By taking a great bite out of design he’s come up with a way to make all of ask ‘why?’
Susan says, “This young man is going places: in fact, it looks like he is going to two different places. From the waist up he’s headed for the office, from the waist down to the skate park. It is photos like this and the one we posted yesterday, that make an audience pause and consider. It requests a split second of huh? It is a great thing to be able to shake your audience out of the passive state of watching or listening and get them engaged. This photo will do that. He looks like an interesting guy. I’d like to know the huh? of this photo. Your audience would too. Find photos like this one to slow your audience down and to ask them to partake.”
Lucia says, “This wardrobe mashup really got me thinking. Was the skateboard his form of transportation to work? Did he change his pants when he got there? I didn’t see a backpack to hold his clothes. So what was going on? Maybe he was going to a job interview and was hoping no one would notice his bottom half. Or maybe he’s a teller at a bank where the public only sees his top half. Therefore, making it possible for him to do the job looking as if he complied with the dress code, but secretly expressing his individuality behind the counter. See, Susan was right. This photo brought up all kinds of ideas.”
