This time Susan and Lucia agree, with slight variations. What do you have to say about it? Give us a word, a sentence or even a paragraph in the comments below.
Susan says, “This is a photo of a structure that brings joy to the heart of a cautious man. This whatever-it-is has been built to survive high water, hurricane and hippo attack. This big baby is never, never coming down. Of course, I suspect it looks this way through foreshortening (a trick of perspective), but nonetheless, here there is safety and security and a hedge against any trouble, real or imagined. A strong safe haven for our troubled times.”
Lucia says, “I’d like to make a variation on Susan’s theme. I agree this photo is about endurance. It’s also about repetition (the pillars) and how it appears in all forms of art. Let’s take a musical refrain. It’s the part of the song that “hooks” us. Through the years it may be the only part we remember, but we sing it with gusto and hum the rest.”
