Lucia says:  “This is a simple story of uninhibited glee only children can express. See the joy in their faces as they splash through the water? They are present in the moment. Wouldn’t it be wonderful for all of us to live life this way?”

Susan says: “This photo creates an instant connection. There is no way to be unmoved, distant or indifferent. You are smiling, too. At least. Water and children. Malleable, motile, quick. Are they siblings, accustomed to playing together, trying new things? The water is cold and has them up on their toes, but they’ve gone deeper, up to their waists at least. Long sleeve shirts and no bathing suits for swimming. They are both squealing with delight. Something of this day will always be a part of them. When they dared to go into the ocean with their clothes on and run and dance in the waves. They will talk about this day  when they are too old to splash through the shallows led by a blurry reflection of themselves in the water.”
