Here are two photographs taken minutes apart that can be used to illustrate some complex abstract ideas.

Let’s begin by contrasting the second image with the first.  Look at how Lucia was rewarded as she patiently waited for the striking sunset that blossomed from the sepia-toned initial view. Her perseverance was rewarded with a sunset rich in colors and drama. Her first photo is good, of course, but if you are in search of something that will knock your socks off, you would be well-served not to scamper impatiently from place to place looking for it. If you wait, trusting in your instincts and experience, it may just come to you and reward your patience.

But, let’s look again at the first image. It has a subtly that is its own reward. All things flashy are not necessarily better. Like people and ideas, sometimes the quiet and delicate are richer and more powerful, if you take the time to observe them.

There is a deep connection to be made with either approach and there are, no doubt, other abstract thoughts that can be illustrated by these two photos. What say you? How would you use these images in your presentation?
