Take a look. Here is a study in contrasts that could be used in a presentation in many ways.
Susan says, “This photo packs a design wallop with its beautiful foreground squadron of softly light paper airplanes contrasted, through the vertical lines, against the practical yellow city lights behind. But what ideas can we portray using this photo. First there is the contrast between the childlike joy of the dozens of paper airplanes in flight against the sinister idea of what planes in formation might be used for in reality. Fantasy vs Military. Children vs War. Fun vs Misery. This photo also captures the joy of flight through the magic of normally misbehaving flimsy paper planes all rising together as one. Majestic. Hopeful. What do you see?”
Lucia says, “We return again to the Portland Winter Light Festival. My intention with this photo was to place the clever, stunning light installation in its surroundings. In the far background we see the regular, ‘we see it every night ‘ city lights including the artful green triangles of the Tilikum Crossing. You could use this photo to talk about the extraordinary within the ordinary. Or that sometimes it takes a special event to make you appreciate the beauty of what’s around you everyday. ”
As you can see, one image can offer many possibilities. Be creative. Don’t hold back. Let your mind’s eye take over. You’ll be amazed at the ideas it will generate.
