Some of the most helpful ideas for presenters are those discovered in the relatively new studies being done on the human brain. I have collected information about my top brain experts into five blog posts that I think will give you indispensable help.
Whether you call it brain science, cognitive study, social psychology, neuroscience, non-verbal communication, body language or micro expressions, the ideas shared by these experts will, I believe, prove as helpful to you as they have been to me. I hope you will spend time to understand and more importantly use, their ideas.
The first expert I’d like to introduce to you is Amy J. Cuddy famous for introducing the Wonderwoman Pose. She is a social psychologist working at Harvard where she is an associate professor of business administration at the Business School. And although her credentials may frighten you away, be assured that her ideas are both revolutionary and easy to follow. She is a most generous teacher, who comes from a place many of us can relate to: that of an unsure and insecure woman. Her findings have vaulted her to the top of her field and made her TED talk, with nearly 5 million views, one of the most watched of all time.
In essence, what Amy Cuddy has discovered is what I call “The Leadership Factor”: that undefinable something that makes us ready to believe and follow someone. While this may seem like some unbelievable magic Koolaid, it simply comes down a method that she has unearthed to release specific hormones into the brain.
Please give her TED talk a listen and I know that you’ll be impressed and helped.
