I was attracted to the palette created by the salmon-colored petals surrounding the yellow ones. I made sure the drops of water were in sharp focus, because I felt they added a refreshing feel to the image. I purposely kept the darker shaded bud out of focus to give it a sense of waiting in the wings for its turn to bloom and take center stage.
