When I first saw this scene, I wasn’t compelled to photograph it. Although I liked the faded sign, the lighting was flat. So I turned away. Several minutes later, I noticed the transforming light streaming through the trees from the setting sun. So I turned back and saw that everything had changed. As you can see here, the dappled lighting gives the photo depth, showing off the brick surface, which adds texture to the worn out words. As always, photography is about timing and seeing, and sometimes turning around to see what’s behind you. #photoaday
