This is it! This is the end of my photo-a-day year. When I started this project, I had no idea how it would go, nor if I’d really see it to the end. I want to thank you for staying with me on this journey. It has been an eye-opening experience for me. In many ways, it made me a better photographer. Because of this project and my commitment to post and talk about my photos, I had to take a critical look at each one. But I have to admit, there was a period early on that the pressure to come up with a post made me feel as if I were in a box. I noticed that I was “editing” myself as I looked at scenes to compose. It was influencing how I saw things, and not in a good way. I realized I had to stop thinking about the photo-a-day project, while I was out shooting. This in itself was a good exercise, because I learned the discipline to separate the photo shoot and the critical thinking afterwards. Thank you again for joining me on this journey. I hope it was as much fun for you as it’s been for me. I’m thinking of doing a “52-plus” project for the next year (one a week, with a few more thrown in). What do you think?
