Last weekend I went with my photography group to the “Historical Carousel and Museum: in Albany, OR – about 1-1/2 hour drive south of Portland. This is a work in progress and truly full of love. The museum is really a studio where volunteers carve and paint animals both realistic and mystical. The studio walls are covered with colorful drawings the carvers use as guides for their creations. As they mention on their website, they are about 4 years from completion. Over the next several days, I’m going to post some of the scenes I captured. Here we see two of the volunteers working on a unicorn. I was lucky to capture the moment both men leaned forward. They were lit perfectly to show the concentration on their faces. Stay tuned for more scenes from the Albany Carousel.
