I’m sure everyone in the Eastern and Mid-West of the US is not interested in seeing a picture of snow after all of the snowfall this year, but I couldn’t resist the dark horses against the white landscape. In another shot of this scene I moved in closer to the horses, but I like this wide shot better because it gives a sense of openness. I composed this scene to include a peek of the fence in the lower right corner to give balance to the row of horses across the field and make the photo more compelling. The trees turned gray from the blanket of snow add texture to the background.
