Having walked by this scene many times, I’m very familiar with this view of the city through the curtain of branches. Often, this site has lured me into thinking it would make a good photo. But I was never satisfied until this time. The light was perfect. There was just enough fog in the air to blur the downtown buildings and smear their colors. The contrast between the beautifully lit background and the dark silhouettes in the foreground added to my satisfaction.
