I was working on balance when I decided to focus on the top of a bridge tower without showing the bridge. I ended up with more than I realized at first. The tower is a bit heavy and could pull the weight of the frame to the right, but other elements balance it out. The traffic barrier (we only see the top of it) in an up position creates an angle pointing in the opposite position of the tower. The tree (again, just the top) in the middle acts as an anchor for the scene. The bird sitting on the light post in the foreground and the other bird on the lamp in the distance balance each other nicely. I hesitated posting this peculiar photo, but I kept coming back to it. There’s something about its oddity that I like. How about you?
