I love these faded signs from days of yore. They are usually painted on the side of old brick buildings, which give the signs a nice texture. To give the photo some perspective I framed it to include the corner of the building and part of its front wall. The tree on the right side keeps the focus on the sign by not of allowing attention to sliding off into the distance of the red wall. I also like the color palette of this photo. The cream of the fading sign is repeated in the autumn leaves in the process of turning yellow. And the red brick of the front wall adds a rich tone to the whole photo. You may have noticed the red bricks scattered throughout the sign. I’m assuming these were replacements for crumbling bricks. If that’s the case, I’m pleased that this old sign is being preserved.
