OK, I admit it, at first glance, I wasn’t sure what I was seeing here. A question flashed through my brain, “Did someone fall head first into a hole?” An instant later, I burst out laughing when I realized my neighbor had used the boot to mark a spot in the garden. Beyond playing with my brain, I found this scene attractive because of its soft, slanted lighting. The purple hue in the shadows looks as if it were painted to match the boot. And the yellow gloves tie into the swirls on the boot. Of course, everything was left here haphazardly after a day of work, but it looks set up intentionally for a laugh, doesn’t it?
