And here is a host of dragon boat stories, free for the taking….
Susan says, “If you didn’t think winning mattered, take a look here. This picture captures the pride, relief and happiness that winning can bring. It isn’t an over the top victory dance, but quieter and very much team oriented — a “we” rather and an “I” moment. Again, I think within these dragon boats are many stories that can add impact to a presentation. I strongly encourage you to look around your world to find, among the strangers who live alongside you, a hundred small, but impactful stories that can strengthen your connection with your audience. You just have to ask.”
Lucia says, “It’s interesting that Susan saw a quiet victory dance here, when in fact these women were doing a stretching exercise during a practice session. Since I was there and know the ‘back story’ of this photo, I see the joy of teamwork and camaraderie. These women not only work hard, but they have a lot of fun. I like that Susan saw this as a celebration of winning, because in a way it really is a celebration of friendships formed, and memories made. Whether seen as a victory dance or a stretching exercise, it’s a story with real emotions. I agree with Susan, local stories are all around and there for the taking. Use them in your presentations. The genuineness of your stories will have a great impact on your audience.”
