The reality of the sunflower. It’s all for the seeds, but what a show.

Susan says, “It’s all here in this close-up of a sunflower. Everything you could desire in design perfection: contrast, texture, order, movement, balance, color, clarity. Why go to all that bother to produce a handful of sunflower seeds. It is regrettable that many people don’t see the advantage in good design in their presentations. Steve Jobs, whether you think he was a genius or a monster, understood the power of design and his belief in design has propelled Apple to the top of the heap. As he so famously said, ‘Design is not just what it looks like or feels like. It is how it works.’ So consider the sunflower and how beautifully it works before you toss away any consideration of the value of design in your presentation.”

Lucia says, “A well-chosen photo will add even more value to the overall design of your presentation. In addition to using images to help you make your point, make sure the photos are pleasing to the eye. Think of the photo as a design within a design. Pay attention to the composition, colors, and focus. Here, a splash of yellow can brighten up your presentation and make your audience sit up and take notice.”
