There is so much to see in this simple photo.
Swoosh! That’s what comes to my mind when I look at this photo. The only part in focus is the middle of the bud. Everything else is blurry. Even the edges of the flower are blurry, Creating movement in an otherwise static photo.
Monochrome supports the action.
Ok, so it’s not exactly monochromatic, there is a bit of red splashed throughout the background, but for the most part the photo is made up of different shades of green. If this were a photo of bright, contracting colors, it would take away from the main objective.
How simple is it?
I needed to incorporate ‘not so simple elements’ to create this simple scene. I was mindful of my depth of field to make a small portion of the photo in focus. And I made sure the background blended in to create a subtle color scheme. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised with the sense of movement that gave this simple photo a wow effect.
