Foto Friday returns with capturing motion on a walk through a wildlife refuge.

This photo captures the motion of a Northern Harrier in flight

This Northern Harrier was flying around looking for food. I stood in awe as I watched him soar around or hover over possible prey. Because of the angle the sun was blinding, it difficult to follow this hawk through a camera lens. But I persisted and I’m happy with the result of this photo. The blurred background depicts motion, but the scene is still simple. And the subtle colors blend nicely with the hawk, yet the blue sky adds enough contrast to make the hawk stand out.

A Walk through Nature

I can’t say enough about the rejuvenating qualities of a quiet, easy walk through a wildlife refuge. Listening and watching for animals in their habitat can make the stresses of daily life fall away. I highly recommend taking the time to relax and appreciate what nature can do for you.
