Here is a photo than can go two ways: is it sinister or is it comforting.
Susan says, “On the one hand, I find something very touching in this photo. It seems the boats (to personify them, if you will allow), are nestled together waiting for dawn in the morning fog. Of course, if you are so inclined (to personify them once again) the boats are huddled together in fear of the unseen menace lurking in the fog. So menace or sweetness, which is it for you? It’s amazing how a photo can represent such different and contrasting ideas.”
Lucia says, “I thoroughly enjoy capturing foggy scenes. I like the mood they create with their blurred edges and minimal visibility. I can lose myself in this photo listening for the foghorns in the distance. Yet, I do agree with Susan, this scene could feel melancholy or sinister. It depends on how you look at it.
