The second in our series of blog posts about round things. Here: color and shape take the lead in design.

Susan says, “My comments are a bit of a cheat I think, because although I acknowledge that there are plenty of lovely ‘designy’ round things in this photograph, what attracts me to this photograph is the incredible juxtaposition of reds, oranges and pinks. It is unlikely that a designer would decide to put these colors together, but here they are: brazen and undaunted by their wrongness. Is it possible that the world of this color oddity is just collapsing: peeling, rusting, dying, rotting. But so lovely.”

Lucia says, “Yes, the colors are strong in this photo, and so are the shapes – the curve of the bicycle wheel, and the lines in the wall. Yet, there is a beauty in the decaying ingredients of this photo. Rust and peeling paint divided by a tangle of past-their-prime wild flowers is what caught my eye.”
